IMHO, they are the expert nutrition professional that not only speaks, writes, counsels, blogs and studies about healthful eating but, they also practice it by feeding themselves and their own families several times daily. The Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD/RDN) spends many years studying healthful eating both during their undergraduate college education and often times during their graduate and supervised internship experience. They focus on every human nutrient need known to science and follow the totality of research associated with nutritional health.
